FOR KIDS: (April 11-17) Easter, "My Family Tree"
Easter is a time we celebrate the atonement and resurrection of Our Savior. One of the greatest blessings we receive because of the gift of the Savior is that we have the chance to be sealed together as eternal families. Talk about how this knowledge can bless us in our everyday lives.
In his April 2022 general conference talk, “We Each Have a Story” Elder Gerrit W. Gong says, “We honor our ancestors by opening the heavens through temple and family history work and by becoming a welding link in the chain of our generations.”
As a family, fill out your family tree and share stories and pictures about some of your ancestors. Learn more about your ancestors by calling a grandparent, aunt, or uncle, or find names to take to the temple.
Optional Activity: Easter is also the time that those of the Jewish faith celebrate Passover, which commemorates the blessing of the deliverance of the Israelites from bondage to the Egyptians. Look up and prepare a simple Passover meal and discuss the significance of each part.
